IN SUPPORT OF

PARTNERSHIP WITH

Over an intensive 4 weekend camp experience, Metta World Peace, in partnership with Coach Martin (Dime Valley Basketball, Team BC and Former SFU Assistant) will work with athletes on the skills, mindset and habits that separate good players from great ones; from defensive intensity and basketball IQ to confidence, discipline and competing under pressure.

Players won’t just run through drills. They’ll be challenged to think differently about the game, understand what it takes to compete at a higher level, and leave with tools they can continue developing long after camp ends.

NBA Champion / NBA All-Star / Defensive Player of the Year / 17 seasons in the league.

Metta World Peace built his career on much more than talent. He became known for relentless defence, physical and mental toughness, and an ability to impact games without needing the ball in his hands.

Now, he’s bringing those lessons to British Columbia.

WEEKEND BREAKDOWN /

This isn’t simply an opportunity to meet an NBA legend. It’s an opportunity to train with and learn from one over an extended period of time.

WEEKEND 1: SCORING + DECISION-MAKING

Athletes will work on becoming more complete and effective scorers while learning directly from one of the NBA’s elite competitors.

Training will cover shooting mechanics, footwork, three-level scoring, reads, and decision-making in high-pressure and advantage/disadvantage situations.

WEEKEND 2: DEFENSE + TOUGHNESS

Learn defensive principles and competitive toughness from a former NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

Metta and the coaching team will work with athletes on defensive IQ, positioning, physicality, resilience, and the mentality required to compete at a high level.

The weekend will conclude with Thanksgiving Monday exhibition games, giving athletes the opportunity to put what they’ve learned into action with Metta coaching from the sideline.

WEEKEND 3: TRANSITION + CONDITIONING

This weekend will focus on playing effectively at pace.

Athletes will learn how to attack and make decisions in transition, execute offense at speed, and understand how high-level teams create opportunities before the defense is set.

Metta will also share conditioning concepts and drills drawn from his experience competing at the highest level.

WEEKEND 4: intangibles + mentality

The final weekend will focus on the parts of becoming an elite athlete that are difficult to learn from a traditional camp.

Metta will share additional drills, experiences, lessons, and insights from his career while helping athletes understand the mental side of high-level basketball: preparation, resilience,
confidence, competitiveness, and professionalism.

By the end of the academy, athletes will have spent the fall immersed in a structured development program designed to prepare them for an exceptional school season.
